On Saturday, October 27, 2012, Whedonopolis/Fandom Charities will celebrate the Fifth Anniversary of their acclaimed Halloween Screenings of The Guild & Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog.

This year’s screening will be held at the historic Barnsdall Gallery Theater, in the Barnsdall Art Park, in Hollywood, CA Tickets are now available for purchase.

This year the charity is  Best Friends Animal Society/Los Angeles  which is leading NKLA,  a coalition of animal rescue organizations, city shelters and passionate individuals dedicated to ending the killing of healthy and treatable pets in L.A. shelters.  The Homeless-ness problem is affecting pets too.

There will also be a canned food drive for SOVA Community Food & Resource Program  SOVA’s mission is clear: to reduce hunger and poverty in Los Angeles.  For each item brought in (Canned Tuna/Salmon, Peanut Butter and Canned Meat) you will be entered for a special drawing.

Previous screenings have raised thousand of dollars for charities such as The Mr Holland’s Opus Foundation, PATH Ventures (People Assisting the Homeless), The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation and Kids Need to Read (co-founded by Whedon alumnus, Nathan Fillion, CASTLE).

Additionally, Whedonopolis/Fandom Charities will again be hosting the closing event at San Diego Comic-Con on July 15th, the Buffy Musical “Once More With Feeling” with a special surprise.  If you are attending the con, please join us!
